Therapies Therapeutic ultrasound: Ultrasound is known to have many great effects which have been shown to increase tissue relaxation, decreasing pain, improve local blood flow, and breakdown scar tissue along with increasing range of motion. The effect of increased blood flow can help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation, it may also help promote bone fracture healing. Ultrasound is applied using a round-headed wand or probe that is put in direct contact with the patient’s skin on and around the site of injury. Ultrasound gel is used on all surfaces of the head in order to reduce friction and assist in the transmission of the ultrasonic waves.

Pre & Post Surgical Rehabilitation Surgery is no walk in the park, which is why most patients opt not to have surgical intervention if it can be mitigated with conservative treatments, however; there maybe times where some injuries have no remedy but to proceed with surgery. Before surgery: With us you may rest assured that we will guide you with pre-operative therapy education and counseling to help you re-gain strength and mobility before and after your surgery for a speedier recovery time. These therapy sessions are often scheduled for multiple visits leading up to a day before to your surgery.
After your surgery: Prior to beginning post-operative therapy, you will have a follow up with your surgeon to asses the recovery of your surgery. Only then will your surgeon clear you to begin therapy with or without limitations if applicable, which are taken into consideration when developing your rehabilitation program. We understand there may be discomforts after your surgery and we will do everything we possibly can to keep you comfortable, however; post-op therapy is critical and will also require your participation during this time. Our providers also maintain regular communication with your surgeon should there be any developments of infection or complications which are vital to achieve optimal health. On your last day of post-op therapy our providers will sit down with you and guide you on how to contiue home exercises and the precautions necessary to avoid new injuries.
